Take a look at this article about the Red Sox raising their ticket prices.

I’ve been thinking about this topic for a while – and this article provided the fuel to write something about it.

The Fenway Park factor is huge — the history of it, the intimacy, etc. Fenway Park alone draws lots of people. But if Fenway Park were to fall down right this minute, how big could you make the replacement stadium and have ticket demand still at the current level? Fenway Park currently seats 36,108, so would 40,000 be reasonable? 45,000? 50,000? The new Yankee Stadium will seat 53,000 — could Boston match that?

I’ve never been to Boston – although I look forward to going there soon. So I ask those with knowledge of this topic – how many more fans would buy a Red Sox ticket if they could? I understand the waiting list to be 5,000+ people long.
